We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead SAP tax initiatives with a strong focus on Vertex, Brazil localization, and SAP Tax Reform . This role combines end-to-end project delivery ownership with a deep functional understanding of Brazilian tax requirements, finance and accounting processes, and enterprise tax technology. The successful candidate will work closely with business, finance, tax, SAP, Vertex, data, and technical teams to deliver compliant, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of SAP tax and Brazil localization projects from initiation through stabilization. • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, quality, and stakeholder communications. • Coordinate Vertex implementation, integration, enhancement, testing, and production-readiness activities across SAP and connected applications. • Drive SAP Tax Reform initiatives , translating Brazilian regulatory and business requirements into clear project plans, workstreams, and delivery priorities. • Partner with tax, finance, accounting, legal, business, and technology stakeholders to define requirements, validate solutions, and ensure timely decision-making. • Oversee solution design and integration activities related to tax determination, tax processes, reporting, master data, and financial data models . • Establish effective project governance, including status reporting, steering committee updates, decision logs, RAID management , and escalation paths. • Coordinate cross-functional and geographically distributed teams, ensuring accountability, alignment, and timely completion of deliverables. • Lead the testing strategy and execution, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, cutover, go-live, and hypercare . • Ensure project documentation, controls, traceability, and compliance requirements are complete and audit-ready. • Identify opportunities to improve tax process efficiency, data accuracy, system reliability, and user experience. • Support training, change management, knowledge transfer, and adoption of new tax processes and solutions. Required Qualifications • 12–14 years of relevant experience , including demonstrated ownership of complex SAP, tax, finance, or enterprise transformation projects. • Strong hands-on knowledge of Vertex solutions and their integration with SAP environments. • Solid knowledge of Brazil localization and Brazilian indirect tax processes . • Demonstrated understanding of SAP Tax Reform impacts, requirements, dependencies, testing needs, and implementation considerations . • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting processes, tax determination, data models, and financial reporting. • Advanced English proficiency , with the ability to lead meetings, communicate with global stakeholders, and prepare executive-level project materials. • Strong capabilities in project governance, stakeholder management, risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making. • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple workstreams in complex organizational environments. • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field . Preferred Qualifications • Vertex Certified Professional certification or equivalent Vertex credential. • Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or equivalent . • CPA or another recognized finance, accounting, or tax qualification. • Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation, tax engines, tax integrations, regulatory reporting, and production support . • English proficiency and experience working with Brazilian tax and regulatory stakeholders .
