A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. • Performs and analyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements. • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management. • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis. • May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit, division or group. • Annual Budgeting & Rolling Forecasts • Strategic & Long‑Range Planning support • Management Reporting & Performance Reviews • Cost, Margin, and Profitability Analysis • Cash Flow and Working Capital Analysis • Scenario and What‑If Modeling • Prepare detailed financial models, forecasts, and variance analysis. • Preparation of forecast assumptions and planning inputs. • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with FP&A standards. • Develop structured performance commentary and management‑ready outputs. • Digital & Analytical & Transformation Enablement • Use analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, IA) to support dashboards and reports. • Standardize templates, driver‑based models, and automation solutions. • Support enhancements to planning and reporting workflows. • Testing, data validation, and adoption of new FP&A tools. • Track and document improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and insight quality. • Business & Stakeholder Management • Support finance and business stakeholders with performance analysis and insights. • Prepare materials for performance reviews and planning discussions. • Translate financial analysis into clear, concise, and decision‑relevant insights. • Respond to ad‑hoc analytical requests in a structured and timely manner. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires mastery level knowledge of specialty area and working knowledge of several other areas, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have deep knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
