Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Job Family Group: Logistics Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: October 9, 2026 Business Unit: Projects and Technology Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: Supply Base Lead The Supply Base Lead is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient day-to-day execution of supply base, warehouse, inventory interface, lifting and hoisting, and road transport support activities. The role operates under the supervision of the Supply Base Manager and supports delivery of agreed service levels, contractor performance, HSSE compliance, operational assurance, and continuous improvement across inbound logistics operations. Key Accountabilities • Create and maintain an inclusive working environment that respects and values individual differences and is aligned with Shell’s core values. • Support the Supply Base Manager in ensuring safe, cost-effective, and efficient execution of supply base, warehouse, lifting and hoisting, road transport, and associated inbound logistics activities. • Coordinate day-to-day supply base and warehouse operations, including receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, staging, dispatch, backload handling, and interface with material movement planning. • Act as operational focal point for contractors and site teams, ensuring activities are executed in line with approved procedures, Service Level Agreements, internal controls, and applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements. • Support implementation of safe work practices and HSE compliance according to the relevant Warehouse and Supply Base Safety Management Systems, including active promotion of reporting, learning, and intervention culture. • Monitor operational performance, identify deviations from plan, and escalate risks, constraints, or service issues to the Supply Base Manager with proposed mitigation actions. • Support assurance activities, including site inspections, contractor performance reviews, LOD or audit observations, action tracking, and verification of closure evidence. • Ensure contractors and Shell personnel supporting supply base and warehouse operations understand their responsibilities, competence requirements, and applicable operational controls. • Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including drills, incident response readiness, oil spill support, business continuity actions, and coordination with the Incident Command System when required. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, service reliability, cost efficiency, waste reduction, inventory visibility, material flow, and operational simplification. • Maintain effective interfaces with Supply Chain Delivery, Planning, Materials Management, Wells, Production, Projects, HSSE, Contracting and Procurement, and service contractors to support integrated logistics delivery. • Provide input to operational planning, activity readiness, contractor mobilization, and non-routine logistics operations, ensuring risks are understood and controls are in place before execution. Skills & Requirements • At least 7+ years of proven experience in supply base, port, warehouse, logistics, or materials operations; if there is no proven experience, the candidate should be able to follow an agreed development or accreditation plan. • Working knowledge of warehouse, supply base, lifting and hoisting, road transport, waste management, and material handling operations. • Ability to apply HSSE requirements, operational procedures, risk assessment practices, and contractor safety management expectations in daily execution. • Capability to coordinate contractors and multidisciplinary interfaces in a dynamic operational environment, with strong follow-up and issue-resolution skills. • Good understanding of Service Level Agreements, operational KPIs, performance monitoring, action tracking, and continuous improvement practices. • Experience supporting assurance activities, inspections, audits, incident investigations, learning from events, and closure of corrective or preventive actions. • Solid grounding in preparing and supporting non-routine logistics operations, including activity readiness checks and verification of required controls. • Ability to assess operational risks in warehouse and supply base activities and support implementation of practical mitigation actions. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with operations, HSSE, contractors, planning, materials, and business stakeholders. • Demonstrated collaboration, accountability, and performance mindset, with commitment to Shell’s values, ethics, compliance, and Goal Zero expectations. • Clear potential to develop Leader of Teams capabilities, including coaching contractors or team members, supporting competence development, and contributing to a positive team culture. - DISCLAIMER: Please note: We occasionally amend or withdraw Shell jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date.
